Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Siren Saturday blog post, I will be discussing the Creatrix Archetype and how to embrace her energy in Winter! I understand that in many ways, the idea of the abundant and prosperous energy of the Creatrix may not seem to align with Winter at all. However, the Creatrix Archetype is a potent Divine Feminine Archetype that is present the whole year long. So, let’s explore how to embrace the Creatrix amid the cold days and dark nights of Winter!
The Creatrix is the ultimate Divine Feminine Archetype of Alchemy and artistry. Her energy is one that both inspires the creation of art and bestows prosperity and Sovereignty on those who feel her presence through her incredibly fertile nature. What does it mean to embrace the Creatrix Archetype in Winter? It means acknowledging the hope for the future growth, laying the foundation for a fertile Spring, abundant Summer, and fruitful Autumn! How do we tap into the Creatrix Archetype to begin to build up the energy that will aid in creating all of this abundance? That is easy: self-love and self-care!
This may seem overly simplistic, me telling you that by practicing more self-love and self-care, you are setting the foundation for a more prosperous year. However, it is not really simple at all, as self-love and self-care are very difficult for many people. In modern Western Culture, we are taught from infancy to always be striving to achieve the next thing, to do the next thing, to fight for dominance in previously male-dominated fields. We are not taught the beauty of the Divine Feminine, the Mysteries of the Moon, the Sacredness of Venus, and the true potency of receptivity! This is something we need to strive to learn over time; it is only then that the Veils of Illusion will begin to lift, and we begin to see life more clearly. I have spent over a decade working with the Divine Feminine, embracing the energies of the Fae and Mermaids, and realizing that my natural inclinations towards embracing that which is innately feminine are the keys to living my most authentic life! So, believe me, I know that this is a process that takes time.
The Creatrix Archetype is at the heart of much of this for me, as the Creatrix Archetype is a primary force in my personality and my life path. In Jean Shinoda Bolen’s Goddesses in Every Woman archetype system, I am an Aphrodite Archetype as my primary archetype, which is certainly the Creatrix Archetype. I have long worked with the Mermaid Archetype, and her beautifully potent power, and she, too, is the Creatrix Archetype. I have seen others call this archetype the Enchantress, which always makes me smile, as I have been going by the title Enchantress of Avalon for nearly five years now! And, of course, in the most basic terms, the Creatrix is referred to as the Lover Archetype. At the end of the day, we have many different names to call each archetype, but they are all potent and true to the archetype’s core meaning.
I believe that working with archetypes, embracing these innate aspects of our personalities, and honing aspects that are not as natural for us to tap into can aid in a better understanding of ourselves. I also find it potent to work with combinations of archetypes, which is what happens when I discuss an archetype that I have given a title to, like the Mystical Femme Fatale, for instance. I will even link some of my other posts about these types of archetype combinations I have worked with over the years below, if you are interested in learning more about that.
Now that I have gone over a bit about the Creatrix Archetype and how she can definitely be worked with in Winter, I want to conclude the post with some tips for embracing her energy in this cold season. The first way to embrace the Creatrix is to PRIORITIZE PLEASURE. By this, I mean taking the time to do things that make you feel good. Take an extra-long shower, luxuriate in the bath with a glass of wine or champagne, and eat the large piece of chocolate cake. Do not deprive yourself! The second way to embrace the Creatrix is to REWARD YOURSELF. By this, I mean taking the time to acknowledge how far you have come, all of the things you have accomplished. Buy yourself the trinket you have had your eye on for a long time, purchase that Reading to ease your mind, or take that trip you have always put off. Again, this is about not depriving yourself. Finally, the third way I want to share to embrace the Creatrix is to BE NOT AFRAID OF REST. By this, I mean to let yourself have time to just be. Take a nap when your body wants one, put the to-do list on hold, and do the extra-long yoga session. Or, you can even rest by cuddling up on the couch with your loved ones and watching a movie! You see, it is only by resting that we are truly able to refill our cups and are fully capable of receiving the blessings that come from all of our hard work! This is not about slacking off or not doing the work; it is about remembering that the Alchemical process is not complete if we do not take the time to allow the new energy to flow in. First, we act, then we step back and allow ourselves to receive, we do not move into a new action right away, as you cannot force change, and you will not receive blessings if you are not open to them!
