The Enchantress of Avalon’s 10 Tips for Dealing with Stress


Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.   Today’s post is about my top ten tips for handling the stressful times in life!   I think it is a great act of self-love to recognize when we are so stressed that we are becoming burnt out, and then to honor that by taking better care of ourselves.   These are some things that help me when I am in that position of total overwhelm!

TIP 1: Tarot Work

~I do Tarot Work as part of my daily morning rituals to deepen my own spiritual insights.   I also love Tarot to commune with the Fae and Deities, which is why I now also offer Channeled Tarot Readings with Faery Queens here on White Rose of Avalon.   This communion with the Divine is a great way to gain insights and wisdom on how to deal with stress!   It is a practice that I find incredibly comforting.

TIP 2: Journalling

~This is another daily routine for me, as I journal every morning, and also some evenings.   This is the ideal way to get your anxieties out and onto paper.   You can even do a fear inventory which you can then burn to a Deity to help release your fears!   Burning a list of fears is much like burning wishes at a holiday, you are releasing that energy, but in the case of fear burning, you are releasing it to help alleviate the anxiety instead of bringing a wish forth.

TIP 3: Scrying
~Scrying of all sorts is a great divinatory technique to help unlock your Shadow.   I prefer Obsidian Mirror Scrying, which is also a deeply healing experience, calming my nerves and aiding in the integration of my Shadow!

TIP 4: Have a Sound Bath

~Blasting music, or a specific hertz of sound around you, or into your headphones is an ideal way to unlock pent-up emotions.   This is a truly healing experience and I love to meditate while doing this!

TIP 5: Meditation

~That leads to the perfect segue into the next tip, meditation.   Meditation of all forms is a perfect way to calm the anxious mind and racing thoughts which are often a product of stress!

TIP 6: Visualization

~Even if you are not meditating, visualizing a protective energy about yourself, like white or golden light is a very simple way to ease some stress.   I also enjoy doing this while bathing, especially showering, choosing a color to represent either the stress or a protective energy which is washing the stress from the day off of my body, cleansing me both physically and spiritually!

TIP 7: Somatic Yoga, Trauma-Informed Kundalini, or Yin Yoga

~This massive favorite of mine, and is another aspect of my daily morning rituals.   Choosing Somatic, Yin, or Trauma-Informed Kundalini as your Yoga style for the day aids in unlocking and processing emotions that you may not realize have been stored within your body!   Crying is very common during these practices, but after the Yoga, you will feel so much lighter.

TIP 8: Breath Work

~If you do not have time to do a full Yoga session, some simple breath work can help prevent an anxiety attack.   Alternate Nostril Breathing is a favorite of mine to balance out my emotions!

TIP 9: Screaming

~This tip is pretty obvious, but if you are feeling completely out of control and full of anxiety, just scream it out.   Vocalizing your pain helps to expel some of the stress!

TIP 10: Chanting, Singing, & Dancing

~Finally, Chanting, Singing, and Dancing are excellent ways to use music to help destress.   Dancing also serves a purpose similar to Yoga, in that it gets us out of our heads and into our bodies!

  1. I’ve been under severe stress recently, and I’ve probably been using all of these tips! I’m happy that Tarot was #1 on your list. 🙂 May I make one addition, please? For me, it’s not screaming, but crying. Just letting it all flow out in unrestrained tears is a great way to let go of stress for me.

    • I love the idea of crying to release stress! It does go hand in hand very well with screaming! So glad you liked my list, and I hope life gets a little less stressful soon!

      • It’s easing up a bit. I just have to be sure I’m getting enough rest and that I’m doing stress relievers so it doesn’t build up and knock me right down.
