A Bright Hello to October: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   Happy October!   For today’s blog post, I am sharing a poem about the magick of this most witchy month.

A Bright Hello to October

by Maranda Wabik

A bright hello to October

Month of magick and enchantment

Height of the Season of the Witch

Time to listen to the old song by Donovan

And the cover by Lana del Ray, as well

My heart begins to swell

The joy of the Autumnal bliss

Is truly hard to miss

Leaves of fiery hues dance in the air

On this Autumnal day so fair

Magick and sorcery crackle

As thrills shoot along the spine

Oh, this is but a single month

But one that is so divine

Autumn is a season of liminality

And October is the height

As the Veil is thin,

And the Otherworld draws you in

So, yes, a bright hello to October!

~I hope you have enjoyed this poem.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. Maranda, this is absolutely enchanting! You’ve perfectly captured the magical essence of October—that delicious shiver of liminality when the Veil thins and the Otherworld feels so close. I love the nod to Donovan’s “Season of the Witch” and Lana Del Rey’s cover; it sets the perfect witchy mood. The imagery of fiery leaves dancing and magick crackling in the air gave me chills (the good kind!). Thank you for putting into words what so many of us feel during this divine month. A bright hello to October, indeed! 🍂🔮✨
