Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Tarot Tuesday blog post, I will be discussing the Queen of Wands and the Queen Archetype for the Autumn Equinox season!
The Queen of Wands is most often referred to as the Witch of the Tarot, and with good reason. Her energy is the alchemy of bringing dreams to fruition. After all, she combines the watery Queen energy with the fiery energy of the Wands suit! The Queen of Wands draws others to her like moths to the flame: those who would just love to bask in her energy and be around her warm and loving presence.
It is that very energy of drawing in admiration that makes me think of the Queen of Wands as being the most inherently tied to the Queen Archetype out of the four Tarot Queens. She can act as the ultimate hostess, showing support for those in her Kingdom (or Queendom), while also being ready to create changes that are necessary to better the lives of those around her. This is very much the energy we think of when we think of a great Queen. Beyond this, she is an excellent helpmeet to her husband, with her energy being watery and fiery and his being airy and fiery (as I consider Kings to be the air element). Together they can herald transformation, especially in creative spheres of life. Of course, the Queen of Wands also has her power enhanced by the Knight of Wands, who is her own helpmeet, for his double fire energy (as I consider Knights to be the fire element) can enhance the drives of the Queen and aid in bringing them to fruition!
So, this fiery Dragon Queen, for I see her as having Dragon Priestess energy in addition to her Witch energy, is an ideal Tarot Archetype to work with in the Autumn if you want to enhance your relationship with the Queen Archetype in general! That is certainly how I have worked with the Queen of Wands a lot over the last year of my life, and she has certainly enhanced my life in various ways.
