Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   In honor of my 35th Birthday today, I will be discussing the energy of Leo and Cancer in my Sidereal and Vedic birth charts. 

As you can see from the title, I tend to think of Leo in my chart as the Golden Lion energy and Cancer as the Silver Siren energy.   This is even more pronounced when we look at the Vedic Nakshatra of Ashlesha, where my Ascendant and Venus are located in my Vedic chart.   You see, Ashlesha, which is located in the sign of Sidereal Cancer, is a Nakshatra that is represented by a Coiled Serpent!   So, yes, this Water Nakshatra is directly tied to Serpentine energy and is even ruled by the Nagas, which are Divine Serpents, lending to a very Mermaidy energy within the Nakshatra.

In the case of my Sun and Moon, they are both in Leo; in fact, I have a Leo stellium.   My Sun and Moon fall in the Nakshatra of Purva Phalguni, which is a Water Nakshatra (even though it falls in the fire sign of Sidereal Leo), said to be deeply auspicious and associated with wealth.   That very association is part of why this Nakshatra is tied to Golden energy, and in particular I consider the energy the Golden Lion energy, given its association with Leo!

To be honest, I think that the energies of the Golden Lion and the Silver Siren speak to my personality in interesting ways.   Of course, I have a deep tie to Water and a profound, Soul-deep connection to the Mermaids and other Water Faeries.   Regular readers will know this is due to my nature as an Incarnated Mermaid.   So, the relationship to the Silver Siren energy of Cancer and Ashlesha is quite easy to see, with my love of Water and deeply emotional and empathic nature.    This also relates to my connection with the Creatrix Archetype, as that is the primary archetype present in my personality.   After all, everything, all life, ultimately comes from the Waters, making Silver Siren energy deeply and profoundly connected to the Creatrix!   In the case of the Golden Lion, that can be seen in the fact that I am often described as having a Sunny Disposition, and I am certainly an Eternal Optimist!   Beyond that, the Golden Lion is also the energy of the Monarch, and in my case that relates to the connection with the Queen Archetype.   The Queen is my tertiary archetype, naturally present in my personality, after the Creatrix and Maiden.   I will note that the Maiden can be said to relate to the Optimistic side of the Golden Lion.   So, yes, it is pretty clear to me that my personality can be seen reflected in my birth chart!

As this is a milestone birthday for me, I thought that it would be a great time to really do some reflecting on my birth chart.   After all, there is so much knowledge to be found there.   Certainly, there is much more than just my big three of Sun, Moon, and Ascendant that I have focused on here.   However, that is always the best place to begin when you are looking into getting to know yourself better based on your own birth chart.   For those unfamiliar with Sidereal and Vedic Astrology, I highly recommend looking into these charts, as I find them way more insightful than my Tropical chart, especially given that the calculations are far more accurate.   Of course, everyone is different, but I think looking up each chart will aid you in seeing what works best for you, and what resonates most!
