Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For this week’s Mermaid Monday post, I will be discussing embracing Siren energy for September. I thought this was the ideal way to transition into September, as today is the final day of August!
As the seasonal transition is nearly upon us, it is the time when we begin to feel the transition from different Fae energies. I am definitely someone who works closely with the Fae, especially the Water Fae, all year round. However, I do realize that certain Fae energies are more pronounced during different seasons. Summer is most definitely a season which holds intense Mermaid energy. So, as Summer begins to come to a close and Autumn is on the horizon, I think that the energy shifts to the more Siren side of Mermaidenly energy. That is why this year, I am thinking of September as the Month of the Siren!
After all, Siren-type Mermaids are the ideal energy to work with during the transition point between the Summery Mermaid energy and the Autumn Vampiric energy. You see, I think of Autumn as a time aligned with Vampires, Vampiric Fae, Banshees, and other Death Omens! So, Siren energy is a lovely middle ground. Of course, you can work with the more traditional Greek Sirens, but you can also work with the Lorelei and the Rusalka. After all, they are Germanic and Slavic Sirens, respectively.
Of course, having a Siren September need not be just about working with the energy of Sirens or creating spells and rituals with them, as I know that they can be dangerous to work with if you do not respect them. After all, as a reminder, with all Fae, respect is key, as is building a relationship with them! So, that being said, you can also have a Siren September by celebrating Siren energy with the way you dress, the way you decorate your home, and cultivating an aura of a Siren about yourself! Whether you are dressing for the life you want, or literally working with Sacred Adornment for rituals, there is power in how we clothe ourselves. So, truly, the simple act of dressing in a way that makes you feel like a Siren will aid in casting a Glamour of Siren energy about yourself! Decorating your home and altar space with Siren imagery and with things that remind you of Sirens will be an aid in bringing Siren energy into your home. Finally, to cultivate an aura of a Siren, I suggest meditation, visualization, and journaling to get to the heart of what Siren energy means to you. Then you can take it a step further, creating archetype spells and rituals, or spells and rituals to honor the Sirens! Any and all of these things can build a relationship to Siren energy, and truly help you have a Siren September.
