Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For this week’s Tarot Thursday blog post, I will be exploring Mermaids as Oracles in a reflection on Mermaid Mysticism. This is also going to be about just why I offer Mystical Mermaid Channeled Tarot Readings here on White Rose of Avalon!
I view my work as an Oracle as being deeply entwined with my Soul origins as an Incarnated Mermaid. After all, Mermaids as Water Faeries are deeply tied to all of the things that water, as an element, is tied to. This includes the emotions and psychic abilities. That is why the Tarot suit of Cups is so entwined with the emotional side of life, intuition, and development of psychic gifts! So, it should be of very little surprise that the Mermaids, who are so profoundly entwined with the element in which they reside, would also have great psychic gifts. Even the very tools that we most associate with Mermaids can be used as tools of psychic communication. The Mermaid’s Mirror allows us to peer into the Otherworld through Scrying, and can also possibly facilitate astral travel (as it certainly does for me). The Mermaid’s Comb allows us to call on the energy of the Mermaids to be with us, granting insights and blessings!
Of course, all of the Fae are known for their psychic gifts, which is why we hear so many stories of those who are blessed by the Fae being given the gift of Faery Sight. It is interesting to note that this Sight is often given through the dew found on plants, which certainly links back to water again. When you are working with Water Fae, that connection to the psychic energy is even more pronounced. Water is a portal to the Otherworld, which is why we see so many stories of visiting the Otherworld through the water. So, by this logic, Mermaids and other Water Fae are able to aid us in moving back and forth through these watery portals.
In fact, that is part of where the insights come from when you are working Divination with the Mermaids. You can use Oracular work with the Mermaids to access the Otherworld, and gain deeper insights through communion with the Mermaids and Water Fae you meet there! In many ways, that is what I am doing when I am performing one of my Channeled Readings; I am calling out into the Otherworld, asking for the Mermaids or the Faery Queen I am channeling to be present with me. This is a powerful way to use my voice, to be a Voice for the Fae and the Sacred Waters, and to deliver much-desired messages to my clients! It is a Sacred Duty that I am profoundly grateful to be tasked with, and one I love performing. Being a Voice for the Fae and Nature, whether on a large scale (like sharing messages here) or on an individual scale in Channeled Readings, allows me to remind people that enchantment is real!
