Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Tarot Thursday blog post, I will be discussing the Two of Wands in Tarot!
Whenever the Two of Wands appears in a Reading, my first thought is that a time of planning is at hand. After all, the card denotes just this: a time to plan ahead of setting ideas into motion. This is not the time to act, but the time to lay the groundwork for future actions! I think that this is why the energy of the Two of Wands always feels like it works in tandem with the Page of Wands to me. The Page of Wands is full of ideas, inspiration, and potential, but there is nothing set in stone. The Page of Wands has not honed the ideas or filtered through them to choose which ones to bring into fruition, and that is what the Two of Wands does. The Two of Wands is there to hone and plan and get you ready to create something new!
There is a gentleness to how the Two of Wands pushes you forward. This is not the fierce forward momentum and go, go, go energy of the Chariot card, for example. This is the card that nudges you to begin planning, to take all of the inspired ideas that are in your mind and hone them. There is even a nature of reflection here, a time to reflect on just what you want to accomplish, what you truly want to bring to fruition.
So, yes, the appearance of the Two of Wands is not a time to act immediately, but rather a time to think and plan out your course of action. This is the time to set up the chessboard, to move the pieces into alignment for when you are ready to act. The Two of Wands is there to remind you to hone the ideas that you have been thinking about, to take the raw inspiration of the Page of Wands, and begin to mold your ideas into something that can be accomplished.
