Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s blog post, I am discussing the Zodiac sign of Leo and the energy of the Solar Divine Feminine!

As the only Zodiac sign ruled by the Sun, Leo is certainly the sign most obviously related to the Solar Divine Feminine.    In fact, if we look at the feminine energy of Leo, we can think of Leo as the Queen.   Leo is the fierce and bright Golden energy of the lion, or the lioness in the case of the Divine Feminine.   This Golden radiance attracts attention, and in this way, Leo reminds me of the Queen of Wands.   After all, both are fiery Divine Feminine energies that draw others to them like moths to the flame!

Honestly, I think part of why I was so drawn to Solar Faery Queens and Celtic Sun Goddesses is, at least in part, due to all of my Leo placements.   You see, in both Sidereal and Tropical Astrology, I have many Leo placements, a Leo Stellium in both systems of calculation.   I know for a fact that my Leo placements have impacted how people perceive my energy, as I have long been told that I have a very Sunny disposition and that my Golden Aura shines brightly.   This sort of language is something that certainly ties to Leo, in my opinion.   Oh, and that is not even touching upon the fact that I have also often been described as dramatic, and I will admit that I certainly am dramatic and theatrical, which shows yet more Leo traits.

So, yes, the energy of Leo can wrap around you like a comforting blanket of Solar Warmth.   The Leo energy can radiate outward to garner attention and admiration.   This is also something that we see with Sun Goddesses, whose energy pulls others to them.   A famous example of this would be Rhiannon riding on her White Mare in her Golden Veil, with her very appearance enough to make Pwyll obsessed with meeting her.   It takes him three days, as he attempts to catch up to her on three different horses, before finally gaining her attention by simply asking her to stop!   In this encounter in the first branch of The Mabinogion, we see just how much Rhiannon’s luminous presence draws the eye of her future husband.   I think that it is a truly beautiful thing that Celtic folklore is rife with Sun Goddesses, as this Golden energy of the Solar Divine Feminine is truly linked to the energy of the Queen Archetype, showing the power of the Divine Feminine in Celtic lore.
