Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Tarot Tuesday blog post, I will be exploring the Four of Cups and dealing with boredom!
The Four of Cups is a card associated with boredom, and I personally call it a card of Divine Discontent. The reason that I consider this card one of Divine Discontent is that the card appears when we need to learn lessons from boredom. You feel a sense of discontent, but there is nothing really wrong. This means that the boredom you feel is not something that will cause issues, but rather this state of mind is there to possibly teach you a lesson. We all need to learn that chasing excitement is not the main reason for living. This card is all about taking the time to just be, to just exist. It is in the quiet and even boring times that we can truly learn about ourselves. This is how we learn to enjoy our own company!
I know that boredom is not fun, and I myself have definitely struggled with boredom. However, I have been learning to find comfort in those truly quiet times, in times when I would normally feel bored. I think that it is important to understand how to entertain yourself, rather than attempting to find fun through excitement seeking. The Four of Cups is a card that appears to teach us the importance of seeking self-knowledge through going within. There is something magickal about finding solace in being alone. I think that it is when we are having quiet time by ourselves that we learn about ourselves. We learn, and we grow, and we become the most evolved versions of ourselves.
I hope you have enjoyed this short meditation on what the Four of Cups means to me. How do you view the Four of Cups? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
