Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For this week’s Siren Saturday, I have decided to share the eighteenth entry in my Incarnated Mermaid Diaries series. Today’s topic is Building Intuition with the Queen of Cups!
I have long adored the Queen of Cups in Tarot. She has always been my favorite Queen. This is really not surprising given that she is the double water card, as Queens are usually associated with the water element and the Cups are the water suit! Her deeply watery nature makes the Queen of Cups a truly romantic, empathic, and intuitive card.
This is likely why she is considered to be a guiding dream or vision, one who can set you on the proper path you are meant to follow. She is a gentle and loving hand, directing you to follow your heart. This energy of Heart Lead Soul Intentions is very important to the Queen of Cups. She does not want us to simply do what others are pressuring us to do. Instead, she asks that we rely on our intuition and our integrity to make sure that any decisions we make are in line with our ideals and morals!
Hers is the path of the Watery Divine Feminine, of following your heart, and of listening to the Voice of the Mermaids, the Faery Queens, the Goddess, and the Sacred Waters. When we take the time to meditate with the Queen of Cups card, perform magick with her energy, and journal about what she means to us, we can open up to a much deeper level of intuition! At least that has been my experience. I think that the Queen of Cups is an excellent guide in general, but I firmly believe that she is an even more special Tarot Archetype for Incarnated Mermaids. Given how deeply watery our souls are, the double watery energy of the Queen of Cups serves as a reminder to protect and cleanse our energy, just as much as she is a guide to trusting our intuition!
So, yes, the Queen of Cups holds a depth of intuition and a depth of Mermaid Magick that the other Tarot Queens do not. That is what makes her special, and that is what I think drew me to her more than the other Queens. Whenever she comes up in a reading, she is a reminder that I hold the magick of intuition and a deep knowledge within already. She is a lovely supportive influence to gently guide me on my path.
