Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s blog post, I will be sharing a poem about Sisterhood!
Dancing with My Sister
by Maranda Wabik
The joy of laughter fills the air
A warm Spring day, full and clear
The breeze ruffles our hair
As I dance with my sister
Such freedom and fun
Has always been between the two of us
Oh, we may not be blood
But our bond goes beyond familial
For we are chosen family
We dance, and we sing
We are together to celebrate
We are together to spread joy
We are best friends
We are teacher and student
We are mentor and apprentice
But more than anything
We are the chosen sisters each of us always dreamed of!
~I hope you have enjoyed this short poem about found family and the joys of sisterhood. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

What a beautiful and uplifting poem, Maranda! I love how you capture the lightness and freedom of dancing with a sister by choice, not just by blood. The images of spring air, laughter, and celebrating together feel so vivid and warm. “Chosen sisters each of us always dreamed of” really hits home—such a powerful reminder that family is about love, not just lineage. Thank you for sharing this joy! 💖
I am so glad that my poem resonated with you! I agree that family is about love, and that is the power of found family. As always, thank you for reading and commenting!
