Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s post, I will be discussing deepening a connection to Honeybees!

As Spring is at its peak, I think this is the ideal time to talk about Honeybees.   With the weather growing warmer and the flowers in full bloom, our pollinators are more visible.   When we take the time to slow down and spend time outside, we can begin to listen more deeply to the turning of the seasons.   For instance, I know that when I go to the local park, I love to see the pollinators.   When I do see bees pollinating flowers, I always take time to thank the bees.   After all, we need the bees and other pollinators to keep our ecosystem healthy.   Beyond that, honey is a delicious and very nutritious food, which we get from the Honeybees!   Honey is also a wonderful ingredient to work into your beauty routine, which is why we often see Honeybees as being sacred to Love and Beauty Goddesses, like Aphrodite.

Interestingly, bees are also associated with being Psychopomps, making them both associated with the height of life and also the mysteries of death!   This certainly makes a lot of sense when we think of the Melissae, the Bee Priestesses, as they both hold space for the living and honor the dead.   

When I am outside, it is a lovely experience to meditate while hearing the buzzing of the bees.   This is a way of communing with these important creatures who can aid us in becoming more comfortable existing in the Liminal.   In fact, that is one of my favorite things about working with the energy of bees: the deepening into your spiritual path.   Even simply hearing the buzzing of bees, or buzzing myself with my eyes closed, allows me to feel more at home in my own skin!

So, yes, in the Spring and the Summer, I feel myself more and more pulled to work with and honor the energy of the Honeybees.   I hope that you have enjoyed this short reflection on my deepening connection with bees.   What is your favorite thing about Honeybees?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
