Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For this week’s Siren Saturday, I have decided to share the thirteenth entry in my Incarnated Mermaid Diaries series. Today’s topic is Blessings of the Sacred Waters!
So, as an Incarnated Mermaid, and especially as a Faery Witch and Water Priestess with a focus on working with the Water Faeries, Mermaids, and the Sacred Waters, this is a topic I find to be supremely important. We need to remember just how important and impactful our bodies of water are to our lives. Springs provide us with clean and hydrating drinking water, and many hold healing properties. Rivers and the Seas allow us to travel and receive goods from all over the world. And those things are just scratching the surface of what water does for us!
The waters are also a source of food, be that fish, seafood, or sea vegetables. Simply being near a body of water is beneficial for calming the nervous system and quieting the mind. We need clean water to bathe in for overall health and hygiene. Oh, and lest we forget that our very bodies are made up of mostly water! Yes, the waters bless us every single day.
Now, you may wonder why I am mostly discussing the basic blessings of water when I titled this post as being about the Sacred Waters. Well, that is because all water can be made to be sacred through magickal and spiritual work. Regular Spring water, or even tap water, can be energetically enhanced to make it truly sacred. Water holds memory and water holds intention. After all, water literally takes the form of whatever vessel it is placed into. This fluidity of form also makes water very malleable and able to hold the resonance with which it has been infused!
That is why it is so impactful to sing to the water, to place images near a glass of water, and to drop flowers into water to create essences. The water will pick up on the frequency of the voice, the image, and the flower very quickly. Then we can either use this now blessed and Sacred Water to drink or in Ritual and Spellcraft. If we drink the water, we are literally taking in the blessings and intentions that we have infused into the water. If we use the water as an offering, or to anoint, or in any other way in our magick, we are boosting the working with an extra punch of that intention in the water!
Yes, oh yes, the waters are truly a blessing to us all. I hope that you have enjoyed this short meditation on the blessings held within water.
