Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Tarot Tuesday blog post, I will be sharing an analysis of the Queen of Cups Archetype and how she relates to the development of intuition!
The Queen of Cups is the card I refer to as the double water card, as most Tarot Readers consider the Queens to all be associated with the water element. That makes the Queen of the water element suit doubly watery. So, yes, the Queen of Cups is a truly exemplary energy when it comes to everything that the water element and the Cups suit represent!
The Cups suit represents the emotions, intuition, and heart-centered intentions. Like the very water herself, the Cups suit does not simply align with the positive parts of watery and emotional energy, but also showcases the destructive parts. After all, the 5 of Cups pushes us to confront the undealt-with negative emotions, and the 8 of Cups challenges us to have the courage to turn away from what is not serving our highest good. This is also true of the Queen of Cups in many ways. She is often seen as a guiding force, the one who gives advice that will show you the path forward that is in best alignment with your Soul’s Purpose!
This means that when we listen to the Queen of Cups, when we take her advice, and see her as a Guide on our path, we can open up to greater intuitive insights. That is when the cup begins to truly overflow. That is when we can more easily call forth greater blessings into our lives! Oh, the Queen of Cups may speak in riddles and rhymes, and it may take some time to get accustomed to what she is saying, as she holds a very Watery energy that is ever flowing. However, when you learn to interpret the insights that she seeks to provide, oh, the world of possibilities truly opens up!
