Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For this week’s Siren Saturday, I have decided to share the twelfth entry in my Incarnated Mermaid Diaries series. Today’s topic is Hearing the Song of the Springs and the Importance of Healthy Drinking Water!
We all know that hydration is of the utmost importance to keep our bodies healthy. After all, our bodies are mostly water, so we need to remember to drink plenty of water to keep them functioning properly. That being said, I think it is even more important to remember to drink plenty of water for Incarnated Mermaids, given that our Souls are so very watery in origin, as well as our human bodies in this incarnation! That is why I wanted to write this reflection on Hearing the Song of the Springs, as our healthy drinking water is the water that comes from natural springs.
You see, while purified water may be better than standard tapwater and its myriad of chemical additives, it does not have the same health benefits as spring water. Of course, many people are not lucky enough to be able to collect spring water from local sources, as I myself am not. So, that leaves us having to purchase spring water to have the best water we can to drink. It is honestly sad that we cannot all simply have access to clean and free drinking water. However, we make do the best we can, and for most of us, that means purchasing spring water.
Of course, even with spring water that I have not been able to collect from Nature, and had to purchase, I do tend to make the water the most magickal it can be. I find that enchanting my water before drinking it, and enchanting my water to use in Ritual and Spellcraft, tends to make the water all the more beneficial. I can also create a more profound connection between myself and the Spring from which the water was originally sourced by working with enchantments! Spending time in quiet contemplation, holding a glass of spring water in my hand, singing to the water, and feeling into the energy of the water, I can begin a meditative journey to the Spring, communing with the site and giving gratitude for the waters.
This may sound simple, but even something as small as this can help me feel more in tune with my Mermaid Soul and more in tune with the health of my body in this incarnation. Honestly, learning these small techniques to draw closer to the waters and to form a deeper relationship with Water Fae, Mermaids, and Watery Faery Queens and Goddesses is something that has drastically improved my life. It is also something that has helped teach me what my true Path and true callings are in this lifetime. Not to mention, it is this communion with the Sacred Waters and the Watery Spirits that has led me down the Path to my life as a Professional Priestess. So, yes, this is something that I could not be more grateful for!
I hope you have enjoyed this Siren Saturday meditation on the importance of hydration, healthy drinking water, and communion with the Springs. In what ways do you give gratitude to the Springs that have provided you with healthy drinking water? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

This is a beautifully reflective post, Maranda. I love how you weave together physical health, spiritual practice, and gratitude for the natural world. The image of holding a glass of spring water, singing to it, and journeying in meditation to the source Spring is particularly powerful—it turns an everyday act into a sacred ritual.
To answer your question: I give gratitude to the Springs by never taking a glass of clean water for granted. Before I drink, I pause for a moment to thank the water, the earth that filtered it, and the Spring it came from. Sometimes I’ll place a small offering nearby—a flower, a stone, or just a whispered blessing. It’s not elaborate, but it keeps the connection alive.
Looking forward to more Siren Saturdays 🧜♀️💧
I am so glad that you enjoyed my musings on the importance of not taking clean drinking water for granted. Your notes about gratitude not needing to be elaborate are incredibly true! Any form of acknowledgement and thanks means so much. As always, thanks for reading and commenting! 💦
