Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For this week’s Siren Saturday, I have decided to share the eleventh entry in my Incarnated Mermaid Diaries series. Today’s topic is Dancing to Your Own Rhythm!
Ah, yes, the concept of Dancing to the Beat of Your Own Drum has long been discussed amongst creatives. After all, most of us who are artistic and creative tend to see the world in a different way than others. I think this is possibly doubly true for those of us whose Souls do not originate as human. I know this is certainly true for me with my Incarnated Mermaid Soul!
It is a tiring thing to try to fit in, especially when you are born to stand out, born to become a voice in the world to help expand perceptions and engender greater empathy and understanding. However, many of us struggle with this feeling of Otherness, and I know I certainly did for a long time. It is often painful to be misunderstood, and I still feel that sometimes. Yet, with the beauty of opening myself up, raising my voice, and truly Dancing to My Own Rhythm in the way I live my life, I have found community!
I am not the only one who has felt like they do not originate in this human world. I am not the only one who sees the world in ways that the majority of the population does not understand. It is realizing this and finding others, both online and in-person, who understand this plight that has really bolstered my passion for living my life on my own terms! I have discovered that it is possible to speak my truth and to become a Professional Priestess, to become a Voice of the Faery Queens (in my case, especially Melusine) in the world, and a Voice for the Fae and the Mermaids, and a Voice for the Sacred Waters. I have discovered that this is part of my Spiritual Path, part of my Calling in this Lifetime. Using my passion, my Voice, and my love to discuss my inner truth can help inspire others.
It truly has been a huge blessing to find my way to Dancing to My Own Rhythm, to not worrying what others may think, to fully living in my Authenticity! I hope that the work I do as a Priestess and Oracle can inspire and aid others in finding their Voices and finding their own Rhythms. After all, the world needs this energy, Nature needs those of us who can Hear the Call, to be brave enough to show up and to speak out. It is in building community and sharing our unique viewpoints with one another and the world that we can begin to affect change. Every drop of water into the Sea of Change ripples out, eventually affecting more and more people!
