The Sacred Waters of the Heart: A Mermaid Monday Reflection

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s Mermaid Monday blog post, I will be discussing honoring the Sacred Waters with heart-led intention!

The communion with Water is in part communion with the emotions, and we certainly see this in the Cups Tarot suit.   This is because of the association of the element of Water with the emotional aspects of life.   So, when we think of Waters holding rulership over the emotions, it is easy to see that the Waters are also connected with the heart and with love!

In fact, it is this association between Water and emotions, especially in the Tarot, that leads me to view the Knight of Cups as the card of Heart-Led Soul Intentions.   After all, as a Knight, the card is one of action, but the inclusion of the Water element suit creates an energy of action that is in emotional alignment.   The Knight of Cups acts from the heart, and he will not take action if something does not feel emotionally resonant!

Similarly, like the Knight of Cups, we can embrace this energy of acting from the heart in our own magickal and spiritual practices involving the Sacred Waters.   This can begin as simply as spending time near a local body of Water and feeling into her energy.   Over time, you can begin to meditate next to the Water, fully in communion with your local landscape.   It is this building of a relationship that will eventually open you up to messages that the Sacred Waters may have for you!   In fact, as I have built a strong connection with my local River, I can tell you that I get messages from her even when I am not right next to her anymore.   It is like I can hear her voice even when I am not physically right next to her.   This bond was built up over time, and I am very grateful for it!

Now, you may not have the ability to spend much time at a local body of Water.   So, you may wonder if there are other ways to create a practice with the Sacred Waters based on Heart-Led Soul Intentions.   Of course there is!   You can do similar work through meditation and Astral Projection from your altar at home.   You can also do Watery Communion workings in your bathtub during Bath Magick, or even in a swimming pool.    There is always a way to get creative and form this bond.   The intention and the love for the Sacred Waters are what matter the most!

I hope you have enjoyed this short meditative reflection on building a bond with the Sacred Waters and leading with Heart-Led Soul Intentions.   What are some of your favorite ways to build a relationship with the Sacred Waters?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
