The Incarnated Mermaid Diaries: Incarnated Mermaids & Sacred Sexuality

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For this week’s Siren Saturday, I have decided to share the eighth entry in my Incarnated Mermaid Diaries series.   Today’s topic is Incarnated Mermaids and Sacred Sexuality!

This is probably one of the most obvious topics that people think of when they think of Mermaids.   Mermaids in various myths, legends, and folklore are innately tied to sexuality.   So, I am sure it is no wonder that as an Incarnated Mermaid, I would take Sacred Sexuality very seriously!   Now, as always, I am speaking for myself, as I cannot say if every Incarnated Mermaid has this same calling towards Sacred Sexuality.   However, from what I have read in testimonials from other Incarnated Mermaids, it definitely seems to be a theme.

For myself, Sacred Sexuality is not only an important part of my own personal practices, working with Celtic Venusian Faery Queens and Priestessing to them, but it is also a part of my Professional Priestess work!   That is why I write about the Sacredness of Sexuality and the importance of respecting our bodies, as the Vessels of our Souls, as Sacred.   That is why I offer Celtic Venus Journal Prompts on my Patreon Shop, to aid others in better connecting with the energy of the Celtic Venus.   In fact, my Celtic Venus Creatrix Journal Prompts are all about connecting with the Creatrix energy and Sacred Sexuality.   As a sidenote, I will link the Creatrix Journal Prompts below for anyone who is interested in them; you do not need to be a Patreon member to purchase Journal Prompts.

Beyond that, my work as a Priestess of Melusine and as a teacher of The Melusine Mysteries also shows a deep connection to Sacred Sexuality, as Melusine is a Mermaid Goddess deeply tied to fertility.   I find that she is an ideal Faery Queen Goddess to work with when you are looking to deepen into your own Sacred Sexuality practices, and embrace a connection to your body.   In many ways, this will also be true of my upcoming short 7-week-long class, Lessons from Celtic Mermaids, which will open for enrollment in the Summer.

Now that I have discussed just how important Sacred Sexuality is in my life and my work, let’s look at some of the reasons that Incarnated Mermaids may have an innate pull towards Sacred Sexuality.   In my experience, I never really understood the mentality of the body being something we should be ashamed of.   I always thought that the body was a beautiful thing, and I always loved classical artwork that showed just how beautiful the body was.   Classical and ancient artworks depict the body as truly a Vessel for the Soul, a Vessel of Divine Creation.   This is ever more true when we look at paintings and sculptures depicting Love Goddesses and Mother Goddesses!   There is no shame in the body, for the body is a Vessel for the Soul, and the female body is the Vessel that bears children.   However, as the world grew more puritanical, this began to be demonized and devalued as simple titillation.   Yet, that is not the original intent of these artworks, and it is not the true value of the body and sexuality.

Sacred Sexuality is about love, about communion, about respect, and about true connection.    In fact, Sacred Sexuality balks at the devaluation of sex as mere gratification, without the need for respect!   So, as I came to understand my views on sex and on the Sacredness of our bodies, as Vessels of the Soul (as we are Souls within bodies, not the other way around), I realized that I did not share the view of many other people.   I did not see shame in nudity or shame in enjoying sex.   After all, people in loving relationships who truly respect each other tend to have the healthiest sex lives, and why would that be shameful?   Why would it be shameful to express love through intimacy?   Why would it be shameful to have sex when that is how new lives are made?   What is shameful about the body?   Why do we seek to make nudity dirty when it is a natural state?

All of these questions could be answered by the unhealthy views that modern Western society puts on sexuality and the body, no longer viewing them as Sacred!   This had always upset me, and once I had my Kundalini Awakening that showed me my Soul Origins, it made sense.   I am not originally a human Soul, so my views on these things differ.   As an Incarnated Mermaid, I view sexuality as something that should be respected, and I view the body as Sacred because it is the container of my Mermaid Soul!

I hope you have enjoyed this exploration of Incarnated Mermaids and my views on Sacred Sexuality.   Is Sacred Sexuality a part of your spiritual practices?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. What a beautifully written exploration of Sacred Sexuality! I love how you’ve connected your personal journey as an Incarnated Mermaid to the deeper spiritual significance of honoring our bodies. Your perspective on classical art and the shift away from viewing the body as sacred really resonates. Melusine sounds like a wonderful guide for this work. Thank you for sharing so openly! 🧜‍♀️✨
