Dancing at the River’s Edge: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s blog post, I am sharing a poem about communing with my local River!

Dancing at the River’s Edge

by Maranda Wabik

Dancing at the River’s edge

No fear of falling off the ledge

Just me and the River

In deep communion

I can hear her voice

I can feel her energy

As the music within me

Guides my graceful movement

Oh, this is a feeling of pure synergy

I can hear her voice

I can feel her energy

The River wants me to know

The River wants me to grow

The River wants to me show

Others that there is beauty in her

She has been harmed

She has been polluted

But she is still forever here

She wants people to enjoy her waters without fear

She wants to remind us that water is precious

Her water has been harmed

And she is angry at that

But she knows that this is not the end

We can do better

We can be better

We can work to heal our connection

To Mother Earth

To Sacred Waters

To Nature

Never forget that to be a voice for the Sacred Waters

Is an act of service

Just like dancing in communion

Just like petitioning

Just like cleaning up the waters

Oh, the River wants us to remember

And, to never forget the power of our voices

So, yes, I can hear her voice

I can feel her energy

And, the River wanted me to share this with you all!

~I hope you have enjoyed this poem.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
