Elfin Grot, Woodland Faery: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s post, I will be sharing a poem about visiting the Elfin Grot of a Woodland Faery!

Elfin Grot, Woodland Faery

by Maranda Wabik

Come on by the Elfin Grot

Come to meet the Woodland Faery

She is there to aid those who ask for not

She is there to help us make merry

As we tarry in the Woodland

Exploring the green forest

Exploring the lush beauty

The Woodland Faery espies us here

She never wishes to incite fear
She only desires to draw us near

For the Woodland Faery can become lonely

The life of a Solitary Faery can be rife

With alonetime, and the Woodland Faery loves company

That is why she invites those who make their way

Into her Woodland Domain

To come to her home

To come to her Elfin Grot

To enjoy time spent in Nature

To enjoy time spent with the Woodland energy

As the Woodland Faery invites a synergy

A synergy between humans and the Fae

A synergy with Nature

That also truly nurtures!

~I hope you have enjoyed this poem.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. What a lovely, inviting poem! Thank you for sharing Maranda, It creates such a gentle and welcoming atmosphere.🌷🤝

The poem beautifully captures the essence of a kind, symbiotic relationship with the natural world. The Woodland Faery isn’t a figure of trickery or danger, but one of benevolent, communal energy, seeking to alleviate her own solitude by sharing the magic of her grot. The repetition of “synergy” drives home the core message beautifully—that this is a mutual, nurturing exchange between humans, the Fae, and Nature itself.

The rhythm and language feel very much like an old-fashioned invitation or a whispered secret, which is perfect for the subject. It makes the reader feel as if they, too, have just received a personal summons to visit the Elfin Grot.

This poem is a delightful little escape and a sweet reminder of the magic that can be found when we connect with the natural world with open hearts. A perfect post for inspiring a moment of woodland daydreaming!
