Sitting Around the Hearthfire: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s blog post, I will be sharing a poem about gathering around the Hearthfire in the Winter!

Sitting Around the Hearthfire

by Maranda Wabik

Sitting around the Hearthfire

Time spent with loved ones

Drinking of the mulled wine

Warming of the hands

And warming of the hearts

Conversation flows with joy

Commiseration between those who care

Tending to the Hearth

Tending to the Heart

Winter’s painful chill

Is far outside the window’s protection

Sitting around the Heartfire

Becomes a seat of true perfection

Time spent with people of true import

Time spent in quiet reflection

Time spent celebrating loving connection

Sitting around the Heartfire

Is something that breeds a sense of community

Sitting around the Heartfire

Is a beloved way to spend a Winter’s eve!
