Shimmering Snowflakes: A Poem

Watercolor painting: Russian winter village landscape

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s blog post, I have decided to share a poem about the magick of Snow!

Shimmering Snowflakes

by Maranda Wabik

The first Snowfall of the year

Casts a thrall for all to hear

The Enchantment of

The Shimmering Snowflakes

Is abundant across the land

The sparkling flakes fall in a blanket

Soft whiteness covers everything

As far as the eye can see

Watching intently from the window

Safe and warm in the home

Near the hearth full of mirth

Is the way I best enjoy the sight of

The Shimmer Snowflakes

Dancing through the air

Washing away the fear

Pure white energy anew

For all who know the power of

The Shimmering Snowflakes

Will feel a sense of bliss and renewal

There is magick in the cold and ice

If one does seek to find a true respite!

~I hope you have enjoyed this poem.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. What a truly enchanting poem, Maranda! “Shimmering Snowflakes” perfectly captures that hushed, awe-filled moment of the first snowfall. I love the contrast you’ve painted between the wild, dancing magic outside and the cozy, mirthful warmth of watching from within. The idea of the snow “washing away the fear” and bringing “pure white energy anew” is so powerful and beautifully put. You’ve reminded us that winter’s gift isn’t just in the landscape, but in the feeling of bliss, renewal, and quiet magic it offers to those who pause to see it. Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece—it’s a lovely respite indeed!
