Memento Mori & Ancestral Remembrance: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s post, I have decided to share a poem about Ancestral Remembrance and the concept of Memento Mori!

Memento Mori & Ancestral Remembrance

by Maranda Wabik

The phrase Memento Mori infiltrates the mind

A knowledge that all things must end

Reminds me of the Ancestral Remembrance profound

Ancestral Reverence is a lovely energy

Creating between generations of living and dead a bind

This bond is something which time cannot rend

When working with the Ancestors in ways of much renown

Memento Mori, reminder of the Cycle, is of great synergy

With the Ancestral Work, so Spiritually Sublime

Memento Mori and Ancestral Remembrance

Parallel reminders of the Cycles of Time

Parallel reminders of the Cycle of Life Death and Rebirth

Parallel reminders that nothing can be created or destroyed

Remember you will die, but also remember the eternal soul

Ancestral Remembrance can aid us in the knowledge

That we are not alone

The Ancestors are there, beyond the Veil

Time is but a construct, with no beginning or end

Death in this life is but a spoke in the endless wheel

That is the poignant beauty of Memento Mori

A reminder of all that is truly real!

~I hope you have enjoyed this poetic meditation on the connection between the concept of Memento Mori and Ancestral Work.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
