Crunching Leaves and Mulled Cider: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s blog post, I have decided to share a poem about taking a walk in late Autumn!

Crunching Leaves and Mulled Cider

by Maranda Wabik

The smell of Autumn all around

The crunch of leaves does surround

A warm cup of cider in hand

Make this walk through the land

A delightful display of Autumnal joy

An energy with which I love to toy

Cinnamon’s scent lingers in the air

On this Autumnal walk so fair

Clove and All Spice enter the scene

As my walk takes me past the bakery

Oh, what a dream

As simple as it may seem

A beautiful walk in late Autumn

Full of crunching leaves and mulled cider

Is sometimes just what the spirit needs

To feel attuned with Mother Nature!

~I hope you have enjoyed this short poem.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. What a lovely and cozy poem, Maranda! You’ve perfectly captured the essence of a perfect late autumn day. I could almost hear the crunch of the leaves and smell that wonderful mix of cinnamon, clove, and allspice from the bakery.

My favorite part is the closing thought: that such a simple walk is “just what the spirit needs to feel attuned with Mother Nature.” It’s so true. Your poem is a beautiful reminder to slow down and appreciate the sensory joys of the season.

Thank you for sharing this delightful piece of Autumnal joy! It truly brightened my day. I’m already looking forward to your next post
