A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For today’s blog post, I will be sharing a poem about going to the Pumpkin Patch!

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

by Maranda Wabik

The time is nearly here

The way is being made clear

For the joy of Pumpkin Carving

On a cool October afternoon

That means we must prepare

A trip to the Pumpkin Patch is in store

The crunch of fallen leaves underfoot

Meets us as we arrive at the Pumpkin Patch

Time is spent enjoying the changing seasons

A love of the Autumnal energy of transition

Has us moving slowly on our mission

To find the perfect Pumpkins

All of the oranges, reds, and golds surround us

As we enjoy the sights and scents of Autumn

Joy fills my heart when we find

The perfect Pumpkins

To become this year’s Jack-o-lanterns!

~I hope you have enjoyed this poem.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. What a wonderfully evocative and joyful poem! You’ve perfectly captured the magic and anticipation of a quintessential autumn tradition. The imagery of crunching leaves, the vibrant oranges and reds, and the “Autumnal energy of transition” is so vivid, it feels like we are right there with you on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin. It’s a beautiful celebration of the season’s simple, heartfelt pleasures. Thank you for sharing this delightful piece of October charm with us
