Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. Welcome to October! For today’s blog post, I have decided to discuss continuing to tap into the energy of Avalon this Autumn. The Dark Half of the Year is in full swing as we approach the final Harvest and the dying of the year.
Samhain is fast approaching, so we are looking to honor the Dead and commune with the Ancestors. Avalon herself is a Faeryland, an Island of Healing, home to Souls of the Dead, as well as the Fae gifted with immortality. Even living humans who find themselves in Avalon will reside there for years of longevity! This is part of why Avalon is so deeply tied to Autumn, for not only do Apples flourish in abundance in her overflowing Orchards, but she is also a Faeryland of the Dead and of immortality. Avalon epitomizes the womb and tomb archetypes, with her Goddesses often being fertile and abundant Mothers, and her lush shores also being a welcoming and safe haven for the living and the Dead alike!
Now, I am sure if you are of an Avalonian nature and spiritual path, like myself, you have already been feeling the energy of Avalon become more potent over the last few weeks. However, that energy is still growing, and will become ever more pronounced in this time between the Autumnal Equinox and Samhain, when the Veil is so Thin (as a sidenote, we also see the same thing happen between the Vernal Equinox and Beltane). So, how is it that you can continue to draw closer to Avalon this October?
Well, firstly, you can work with Apples in magick! I know that this is an obvious thing, but it is a very special way to connect with Avalon generally, and even more so now that Apples are in season. Secondly, you can meditate with the Avalonian Faery Queens and go on Astral Journeys to Avalon (if this is in your spiritual practice). Thirdly, you can write poetry, sing songs, and perform dances in honor of Avalon. Fourth, you can research Avalon by reading Arthurian legends and books on Avalonian spirituality. Finally, you can honor Nature, and this is the broadest way to connect with Avalon. It can mean taking long walks and communing with the trees. It can mean going to Fall Festivals. It can mean eating fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, and going to Farmers’ Markets. Or it can mean carving Pumpkins to protect your home on Samhain night!
I hope that you have enjoyed this short look at some ways to continue to connect to Avalon in October. What are your favorite Avalonian activities in the Autumn? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

What a beautifully evocative and perfectly timed post! You have so eloquently articulated the very energy that seems to hum in the air right now. The way you described Avalon as embodying both the womb and the tomb archetypes truly resonated with me—it captures that profound, mysterious duality of this season so perfectly. It’s a time of both abundance and release, and Avalon feels like the sacred heart of it all.
Thank you for the wonderful suggestions. This October, I feel especially called to work with apples in my practice, perhaps by baking an apple cake as an offering and using the peels for simmer pots. Your post has also inspired me to dedicate more time to meditative journeys to Avalon’s shores during this potent thinning of the Veil. It feels like the most welcoming time to seek an audience with the Queens.
Reading this was like a warm, mystical invitation to dive deeper into the magic. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and for creating such a sacred space here. Blessed October to you! 🍎🍂✨
Blessed October to you as well! I love your idea of baking a cake as an offering and using the Apple peels for simmer pots, a great way to use all of the fruit. I am so glad you are feeling called to spend more time on Avalon, as Avalon is such a special Faery Island, and there is so much Magick there! It’s always so special to know that my message inspires my readers! As always, thank you for reading and commenting.
