Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Mermaid Monday blog post, I have decided to discuss the concept of embracing the Oceanic Island Enchantress energy! This is a very Mermaidy, as well as Summery and Watery magickal energy, which is why I thought that it was an ideal subject for this time of year. Read on for some tips on Embracing the Oceanic Island Enchantress Energy!
Tip 1: Sing to the Waters
~Each morning, I sing to my first glass of Water. This allows me to imbibe intentions into my body, absorbing all of the pure positivity in the Water! This is a simple way to get my mornings off to the right start.
Tip 2: Pour Plenty of Salt in Your Bath
~When I take a Bath, and I tend to love to soak in the Bath often, I just have to add plenty of salts into the Water. Even if I am using other things like herbs, oils, and milks, I still want plenty of salt, as this is a way to make my Bath oceanic!
Tip 3: Enchant Your Beauty Products
~As Enchantress energy is related to Glamour and Beauty, enchanting your beauty products (and even your cleansers and soaps) adds some magick to your self-care. This is enhanced with oceanic energy if your eyeshadow colors are Aquatic!
Tip 4: Dance Next to Your Local Body of Water
~I love spending time near the Water, even though I unfortunately do not live near the ocean, so for me, this means rivers, lakes, and creeks. As dance can be very Watery, with flowing movements, I love to dance in honor of the Watery Faeries and Spirits!
Tip 5: Decorate Your Home with Seashells
~This one is pretty simple, but bringing a bit of Aquatic energy into your home by decorating with Seashells is a lovely way to draw the Enchanted Island energy into your home!
Tip 6: Wear Aquatic Colors
~Wearing Aquatic colors, like my favorite Watery shades of Green and pale Purples, is a simple way to embrace your inner Mermaid, and your Inner Island Enchantress by extension. This is just a lovely way to surround yourself with Aquatic energy!
Tip 7: Meditate with the Mermaids
~Another very simple way to embrace your Inner Island Enchantress is to meditate with the Mermaids. After all, drawing close to Mermaids will allow you to be more attuned with the Waters!
Tip 8: Read ‘The Odyssey’
~So, The Odyssey is incredibly Aquatic, with Sea Monsters, Enchanted Islands, and Magickal Women abounding. This is why I have always preferred the story of The Odyssey to The Iliad. Circe’s Sorceress nature, transforming men into animals, is delightful. Even more in line with the Enchantress energy is Calypso and her truly Enchanted Island, with all of her beauty, sexuality, and romance!
Tip 9: Read Aquatic Fairytales: ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Undine’
~Of course, it is so easy to feel the enchantment by reading these classic tales by Hans Christian Andersen and Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué. I actually did a bit of a deep dive into these two stories on Patreon recently, if you are interested in more about them!
Tip 10: Read ‘Vita Merlini’
~This is the first literary reference we have to Morgan le Fay and the Ninefold Sisterhood of Avalon. This is one where you can just read the part about Avalon in order to better understand the evolution of how Avalon is described in literature! That being said, the whole of this book is really worth reading if you have the time.
Tip 11: Call on Avalon During Rituals
~Oh, this one is very obvious coming from the Enchantress of Avalon, but I just had to mention calling on the energy of Avalon during Rituals! After all, Avalon is a Sacred Isle of the Otherworld and a Faeryland, making for the ideal way of embracing your Inner Island Enchantress.
Tip 12: Study the Ninefold Sisterhood
~This is another important thing to learn about if you are desiring to connect with Island Enchantress energy. You can see how the Ninefold Sisterhood of Avalon has evolved in literature over the centuries!
Tip 13: Study Your Birthchart for Watery Energy (like the Melusina and Loreley asteroid placements)
~This one is super interesting and not something that may be readily apparent when you desire to connect to Watery energy. However, looking into where Watery Asteroids land in your birthchart, both your Tropical and Sidereal charts (and even your Vedic chart), can aid you in seeing how much Water you truly have in your chart!
