Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For this week’s Femme Fatale Friday post, I will be discussing how you can embrace Glamour in a way that feels genuine to you! So, that means we will be looking at Faery Energy (in particular Water Faery Energy in a very Mermaidy Way) and how to be Naturally and Magickally Glamourous.
So, you may wonder, what exactly do I mean when I say Glamour? Am I referring to the Glamour of Old Hollywood? Am I referring to the Glamour of Elegance and Beauty? While both of those types of Glamour are truly very lovely to work with, they are not what I am referring to today. The Glamour I am referring to is the Faery Magick type of Glamour! This is the energetic magickal work that creates a shield of protection (and allure) around you. I personally swear by using a Glamour to protect my energy field from any unwanted energies I may encounter when I leave my home.
Now, the process of finding what your unique Glamour is will be unique to each of us. You may wish to protect yourself like I do, or maybe you want to enhance your physical allure before going out to meet up with a crush. For my personal needs, I choose protection, as my aura has drawn in some people whose energy I have felt very uncomfortable with over the years. This is why I feel the need to protect myself, so that I can be protected from any unsavory energy I may encounter on a daily basis. This protection, which is not just the Veil of Glamour, but also the enchanted jewelry I always wear, aids in creating a barrier against the possibility of energetic or psychic attack. In this way, Glamour becomes something as routine as putting up protective barriers in your home, which I am always very careful to do, as I make sure my home is cleansed and protected magickally!
So, other than protective Glamour, what else is unique about my Glamour? My Glamour is really entwined with my deep and abiding connection to Water and the Mermaids! This could partially be why I am hyperaware of the possibility of energetic or psychic attack. When you have a very Watery energy, you need to be extra careful to make sure that you are protected from absorbing any sort of energy pollution, as Water is so malleable, and Water remembers the good and the bad! That is why I think I feel the need to be sure that my Glamour practices involve protection, but I also like to use my Glamour to aid in creative inspiration, as you can have many layers to your Glamour. At the end of the day, it has taken me years of practice to learn what the best form of Glamour practice is for me, and how to cast a Glamour easily!
So, I suggest trying out different techniques of casting a Glamour. Do you use your hands to aid in creating a barrier? This is what I personally do, like pulling a Veil around my body. Or maybe you simply create a magickal amulet that you keep charged with the energy of the Glamour you want to cast? This way, just putting on the amulet would be casting the Glamour, but there would be upkeep in making sure the energy of the amulet is regularly charged. Other than these ways, you could also possibly feel called to cast your Glamour while meditating or doing yoga. Again, try out different ways until you find what suits you the best!
Finally, I want to end by talking a bit about finding what sort of Glamour is unique to you. As I said, for me it is very Water Faery, full of Mermaid energy, because this has always resonated with me on a Soul level. You may feel drawn to this as well, in which case, a lot of what I shared here may be extra helpful. You may feel drawn to other magickal and supernatural beings and creatures (and you may not know why), like Dragons, Unicorns, Vampires, Phoenixes, Sylphs (Air Elementals), Gnomes, Salamanders (Fire Elementals), or Elves. If you do feel drawn to any of these, or any I have not named, explore that and explore how that connection may aid you in Glamour, even if the being or creature seems frightening at first. After all, there is a reason you feel a special pull to this being or creature, so explore slowly and safely (until you build relationships). Like I said, creating your own Glamour style is a very personal thing, and you should take the time to find what truly makes your soul sing!
