Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Mermaid Monday blog post, I will be discussing the Mystical nature of Mermaids. The energy of Mermaids is often thought of as either dangerous or sexual. However, while that is very true, Mermaids are also incredibly Mystical and Psychic!
The Mermaid energy can easily be applied to a lot of your Psychic and Spiritual workings. You can call on the Mermaids while Water Scrying and Mirror Scrying (after all, Water is their Sacred Element and Mirrors are one of their primary symbols). There are several decks of Oracle and Tarot cards that are Mermaid in nature. Even meditation is an excellent way to connect and commune with Mermaids. I love to meditate with the Mermaids during Bath Magick Rituals, as a place to truly communicate with them while also being immersed in Water!
That leads well into another aspect of Mermaid Mysticism, which is Transformation. While meditating with the Mermaids, you may just be taught how to transform into a Mermaid yourself in order to swim in the Waters of your own unconscious to commune with the Mermaids on an even deeper level. This can be a meditation that you perform yourself, or you can listen to Mermaid guided meditations. Either way, it is a very interesting way to get to know the energy of the Mermaids.
Then there is the idea of connecting to Mermaid Mysticism by dressing like a Mermaid. You can buy yourself a Mermaid Tail, and you can dress in outfits that are inspired by the folklore and beauty of Mermaids. This is less obviously spiritual and magickal in nature, but the way that you dress can certainly create magickal outcomes. After all, we have the old adage of dressing for the job you want, or dressing for the life you want. Dressing in clothing of a certain nature can aid us in creating a way of manifesting new lives for ourselves. Therefore, if we can manifest change via sartorial choices, we can also use those choices to deepen the connection between ourselves and the Mermaids!
No matter how you begin to deepen into the energy of Mermaid Mysticism, you will be able to create a unique connection to the Mermaids that is all your own.
