Thorn of the Rose: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   Today’s blog post is a poem about the strength held even in the softest of forms.

Thorn of the Rose

by Maranda Wabik

Silken soft petals beginning to bloom

Unfurling in unmatched beauty

A truly awe-inspiring sight to behold

The sweetness of the soft petals-white

Coupled with the vibrant green leaves

May make you imagine that this Rose

Is free from any true might

Yet, lest we never forget

That the sweet-smelling Rose

Holds within her stems a powerful protection to be met

A barb of a threat to pose

The thorn is her defense

The thorn is her savior

The thorn is her friend

The thorn is her reminder that her Will shall not bend!
