Balancing the Energies of Venus and the Moon

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.    This week’s Femme Fatale Friday blog post is about the power of balancing Venus and the Moon to create a potent Divine Feminine alignment!   After all, in astrology, the Moon and Venus are the two exaltations of the Feminine.

When we work with Venusian energy, we are working with the sensual and embodied Divine Feminine.   When we work with Lunar energy, we are working with the ethereal and ephemeral Divine Feminine.    One way I love to look at it is that working with Lunar energy is like embodying the High Priestess Archetype in Tarot, and working with Venusian energy is like embodying the Empress Archetype in Tarot!

If we combine these energies to work with them in tandem, we are truly learning to embody a very powerful Feminine energy.    I think of the Venusian and Lunar combined embodiment to be the Love Priestess or the Pleasure Priestess.   Working with a more embodied Divine Feminine energy while also Priestessing, for example, holding space for people to express their emotions (especially of heartbreak) or teaching others how to work with the Divine Feminine energies themselves, is an ideal way to hold both Venusian and Lunar energies!

Now, I want to share some great ways that you can begin to work with both Venus’s energy and the Moon’s energy.   I like to use Mirror Magick to commune with the Faery Queens, as I have written about several times.   You can add some Venus and Moon energy to Mirror Magick by Black Mirror Scrying at either the Dark/New Moon or Full Moon and incorporating floral essential oils and dried flower petals into your ritual.   Given that you Mirror Scry in a dark room with just a candle burning to illuminate the Mirror’s surface, before the ritual, you can carve intentions into the candle, anoint it with floral oils, and cover the candle in herbs.   You could also have fresh flowers in a vase on your altar while Mirror Scrying, or even have one of your potted flowers on your altar.   All of this comes down to the fact that I love to use floral energy and Divination combined to align Venusian and Lunar energy in all sorts of rituals!   After all, I find that flowers of all sorts tend to hold a lot of Venusian energy, especially my beloved Roses, of course, so combining flowers with Divination (which is a Lunar activity) is a beautiful way to work with both Venus and the Moon.

I hope you have enjoyed this short look at some ways you can combine Venusian and Lunar energies in your magickal or spiritual practices.   What is your favorite way to work with both Venus and the Moon?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Note on Image: The image at the top of the post is a lovely abstract artwork of a crescent Moon and stars forming the Venus symbol.   As a side note, I tinted the artwork Green myself, as Green is the color of the Heart Chakra.   I found the artwork on https://www.pinterest.com/pin/68741516902/.
