Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   This week’s Femme Fatale Friday post is a poem about Brigid and her connections to Avalon, in honor of Imbolc being tomorrow!

Brigid of Avalon

The Candles are lit

With warm golden light overtaking

The Sight in the White Spring

The scene has been set in a way that is fit

The Goddess Brigid blesses this undertaking

The Beauty of Imbolc and Brigid’s Day sing

The song of the heart 

Is feeling full of joy

Guests in large numbers are there at the start

Brigid’s Flame and Cauldron 

Provide abundantly for this feast day

Goddess of Flame and Sacred Well

Goddess so linked to the Fay

Lovely Brigid is honored all through the Dell!

The snow on the ground is sure to melt

Very slowly the snowdrops do seek 

To peek

Through the hard ground

Oh, how Brigid’s light 

So full of might

Will soon bring about the warmer weather

Then we shall all dance in the heather

And the blessings of Spring will be seen by a feather

Which falls from the Swan, the Raven, the Owl

As they fly overhead 

Lifting the cold of Winter’s dread

Loving and kind, Great Goddess Brigid 

Leads the way 

To a brand new Day!
