Swan Maiden’s Charm: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   Today’s post is a poem about working with and embracing the sweet charm of the Swan Maiden!

Swan Maiden’s Charm

by Maranda Wabik

Ruffling of Feathers is heard in the night

When the Swan Maidens are lost to sight

Off fly the Feathered Cloaks

As the Charming Swan Maidens Dance

Making a spectacle that draws in the blokes

The lithe-limbed Faeries Prance

Making the men fall into a Love Trance

Laughter is heard all about the Woodland

On the edge of the Lake, the Swans call home

The sparkling wit of the Swans is not bland

Flying repartees abound the Forest dome

Engendering a desire to write this story in a tome

On and on the Swan Faeries make with their party

Taking no heed of the men whose attention they have drawn

Soon the night begins to end with the Swans being tardy

Time has come for the group to depart with the dawn!

Rustling is heard

As Feathered Cloaks are adorned

Off into the Lake, they do depart

The men awake from their daze with a start

This time none of them stole a Cloak

Leaving all the Swans with their freedom to stoke!
