Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. For today’s Tarot Tuesday blog post, I have decided to discuss Venusian energy found in the Tarot! I will look at this by delving into several Tarot cards where the archetype relates to Venusian energy. I have chosen to focus on the top seven cards that I thought held the most Venusian energy in the whole deck. Without further ado, let’s look at Venusian energy in the Tarot!
THE EMPRESS (III)
~The Empress is likely the most obvious choice for a card holding Venusian energy, as she is the abundance, prosperity, and fertility of Nature’s bounty made manifest in physical form! She is also the Faery Queen who makes the marriage to a King on behalf of the Land, blessing his reign and granting him the right to rule, as seen in the stories of Guinevere, Blodeuwedd, Melusine, Iseult, and Rhiannon. In many decks, the symbol for the planet Venus is even found in the artwork for the Empress card, further solidifying this as one of the most Venusian cards in the deck!
THE LOVERS (VI)
~The Lovers relate to this Venusian Empress energy by showing the true love union between the Masculine and Feminine. Often, we can think of them as the Lovers that make their union after the Empress leaves an unhappy union. We see this in the tales of Guinevere, Blodeuwedd, and Iseult! In fact, many a Celtic or Arthurian deck has chosen to feature one of those three Faery Queens and her lover on this card. The Lovers shows the union of the Divine Feminine with the Divine Masculine, and the energy of union is something that Venusian energy often craves, whether that is union with a beloved, union with family, or union with friends.
THE STAR (XVII)
~The Star may seem like a strange card to include here, but Venus is known as the Morning and Evening Star, making the card an ideal one to align with Venusian energy! Not to mention that the Star is one of ultimate hope, and Venusian energy is often incredibly optimistic and idealistic, relating to the energy of the Star card. It is this optimism that can aid Venusian energy in continuing to create beauty all around them, even in the darkest of times, helping to lighten the energetic load!
QUEEN OF PENTACLES
~The earthy and fertile Queen, she is an example of the Venusian protectiveness of those one holds close. She is also sexual in her abundant fertility, clearly relating to Venus in her nature as Divine Feminine Mother as well as Lover!
QUEEN OF WANDS
~The fiery and passionate Queen, she taps into the sensuality of Venus, acting to manifest a beautiful and magickal life, creating a home full of enchantment around her hearthfire!
QUEEN OF CUPS
~The watery and emotional Queen, she is the ultimate card of following your heart to find your ultimate path in life, relating to Venusian energy being Alchemical, creating change, and acting as both Muse and Artist!
TWO OF CUPS
~Finally, the Two of Cups is the card of true love and balanced emotional energy. The coming together of two hearts to provide a safe haven for one another, harkening to Venus in a stable romantic relationship!
~I hope you have enjoyed this analysis of some Tarot cards whose archetypes relate to Venusian energy. What other Tarot cards can you think of that relate to Venusian energy? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
