Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. Today’s blog post is a Tarot Tuesday look at how to use Tarot Archetypes when setting new intentions! This was an idea that I felt very drawn to as 2024 was coming to a close. To focus on a Tarot Archetype, or even a few specific Tarot Archetypes, to bring forth that energy into the New Year!
Now, this obviously need not be done at the New Year or at any specific time, but it is a beautiful way to enhance any intentions you are looking to bring to fruition. Other than the New Year, I think it would be lovely to do this Seasonally, especially at the Dawning of Spring, so that it can grow along with the growing season of plants, or at your Birthday to bring this energy into the next year of your life!
When choosing a Tarot Archetype to incorporate into an intention setting, there are a few different ways to go about it. First, you can use your own knowledge of Tarot to choose a specific card that suits your intentions. Second, you can choose a card that has been appearing for you a lot lately and form an intention around what you think you need to learn from that archetype. Or third, you can choose a card you feel drawn to when flipping through your favorite deck. Any of these options is a great way to figure out which Tarot card to use.
Once you have chosen a Tarot Archetype, you can meditate with the card to try and gain insights about what you can learn from the archetype. After figuring out what the archetype means to you and writing down an intention or a short list of intentions, you are ready to work this Tarot Archetype’s energy into your favorite intention-setting Rituals! Do not be afraid to get creative in how you work the card in Ritual. Is an altar set up with the card at the center a focus point of intention during the Ritual? Do you keep the card on your altar or in your space even after the Ritual is complete to remind you of the intention? Do you burn your intentions or imbue them into water to drink? All of these are options you have, and the only limit is your imagination, go with what feels right intuitively!
I hope you have enjoyed this short post about incorporating Tarot Archetypes into your intention setting. Are you inspired to try this for yourself? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
