Thoughts on the Queen of Cups Archetype & the Mirror of the Soul for the New Year

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   Today’s post is about the Queen of Cups Archetype and my thoughts on using this energy with the Mirror of the Soul going into the New Year!   The Queen of Cups Archetype holds the energy of being the Guiding Dream and Oracular Vision, imparting wisdom and deep emotional intelligence.   She is the very romantic Queen, intreating us to follow our heart and listen to the Song of the Soul!

She is the Queen who holds watery energy the most, as the energy of the Queen in Tarot is associated with the water element, as is the Cups suit.   This makes the Queen of Cups doubly watery and very emotionally, psychically, and spiritually resonant.   As we are readying to transition from the end of one calendar year and into the next, it is the ideal time to begin to delve into our emotions and what sort of things we would like to bring with us into the New Year.

We can lean on the energy of the Queen of Cups to aid us in Scrying the Mirror of Our Souls, to go within and figure out what we want out of the coming year.   Moreover, she can also aid us in confronting the Shadows and figuring out what we want to release before the New Year begins.   Meditating with a Queen of Cups card from your favorite deck may be a good way to deepen into your current emotional state and find some clarity as the old year ends and a new one dawns.

Of course, you need not have a Queen of Cups Tarot card on hand to tap into her energy and find guidance from this archetype.   As I have been discussing her as an ideal Guide for Scrying the Mirror of the Soul, it is obvious that you can also access this energy by Scrying in a Black Obsidian Mirror!   Black Mirror Scrying is one of my favorite techniques for both connecting with my own inner Shadows and as a useful tool for astral projecting to Faery Realms.   This is enhanced, seeing as the Moon is currently Dark today, with the New Moon occurring tomorrow, making it an even more ideal time to delve into the Shadows and see what is no longer serving you.   It feels even more potent to be able to release what does not serve on the Dark Moon phase today so that you can move into the New Moon right before the New Year!

At the end of the day, given the Queen of Cups’ insanely psychic and Oracular nature, any form of Divination and Oracular work can help you interact with this archetype.   So, if you do not have a deck on hand or a Black Obsidian Mirror, you can still work with the Queen of Cups Archetype this Dark and New Moon phase going into the New Year.   With all that being said, I would recommend that anyone wanting to work with the Queen of Cups Archetype as they plan to set intentions and release unwanted energies choose whatever form of Divination they prefer!

I hope you have enjoyed this short rumination on how to work with the Queen of Cups Archetype as we get ready for the New Year.   What is your favorite way to work with the Queen of Cups Archetype?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Which pairs well with my bedroom altar the has a chalice for golden fire energy.
