Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. Today’s blog post is about the Queen of Swords Archetype and how to tap into her energy of balancing Silky Regal Elegance with the Backbone of Steel! The Queen of Swords is often a difficult Divine Feminine Tarot archetype for many people, as she is regal and elegant on the outside, but she has a backbone of steel. Her inner steely energy means that she will brook no fools, and she can help us confront our inner Shadows. It is this energy of confronting inner Shadows and pushing us to speak our truths that can be a difficult aspect of this Queen of Swords energy for many.
The Queen of Swords is the Queen associated with the Air Element. She can aid us in wielding the Sword of Truth, which she gifts to us as we begin to examine our inner truths. Obviously, inner truths include inner Shadows, which I mentioned in the above paragraph. Much like the Lady of the Lake of Arthurian legend, the Queen of Swords asks for us to truly look within and acknowledge where our boundaries are being breached and where we may be pushing the boundaries of others! In fact, this boundary-setting aspect is a very important and useful part of the Queen of Swords Archetype.
The Queen of Swords is also the Queen most associated with imagination and creative thought, as she combines the Air element energy of intellect and strategy with the feminine energy of the Queen, who is fertile and creative. When we gaze upon the image of the Queen of Swords, she is often holding a sword as if gifting it to us. She looks regal and elegant, but she does not allow others to cross her. This backbone of steel and the steely resolve she has in her decisions is why she can so easily aid us in walking our own path of truth and make sure that we do not have our boundaries crossed by others! I will admit that of all the Queens of Tarot, the Queen of Swords has always been the one who I had the most difficulty seeing appear in my reading. However, over the last year, I have been engaging with her energy in a more positive light, as I can now see that she is entrusting me with the tasks of truly speaking and living with authenticity. As I fully believe in living in truth and authenticity, which I have discussed often, realizing that the Queen of Swords appearing in my readings is related to just that has truly brought her energy into greater understanding for me!
I hope you have enjoyed my brief ruminations on the Queen of Swords Archetype and energy. How do you view the Queen of Swords? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
