Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   Today’s post is a special announcement of a new theme week.   I am very pleased to announce that I have decided to do an entire week devoted to the Green Knight, beginning tomorrow!    As Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is one of my all-time favorite Arthurian tales and one set during the Yuletide season, it seemed to be an ideal topic to focus on for an entire week of posts.   I chose to begin the Green Knight week tomorrow so that it will end on the Winter Solstice, as this topic is a great lead-in to Yule.   I hope you will join me on this deep-dive Quest for Knowledge and into the world of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight!   As a special treat, I also want to share a poem I wrote as the beginning of this Quest into the Lore of the Green Knight.

Gratitude in Green

Gratitude brings about a nearly imperceptible shift

More than a simple change of Attitude

Not a small shift of Latitude

But in truth, real Gratitude

Creates minute shifts of Consciousness 

Those shifts lead to New Knowledge

That Knowledge creates a Fresh Perspective

A Perspective aligned with inherent Soul Truths

Those Soul Truths allow us to wield Excalibur

The Sword of Truth and Gift from the Lady of Avalon

Blessed are the ones who wield her

For receiving her is a Call to Action

The Time to Begin the Quest

One that will not rest,

Until our Inner Truths 

Are shown in the Outer World

This is the Quest of the Knight

The Quest of Gawain

And the result of the Fight

With the eponymous Green Knight

In the name of Morgan le Fay

We, like Gawain, shall find our Way!
