Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. Today’s post is a poem about the transitory period as late Autumn becomes Winter!
The Whistling Winds
by Maranda Wabik
The Whistling Winds shake the pane,
Glass protection from the rain.
The ebony sky is dotted with light,
Providing a serene sight.
Looking through the Portal,
Creating a Liminal Space, not one that is mortal.
The night’s slow, steady storm,
Is a plight that does not keep me warm.
The hearth of the home,
Is a destination to which I jovially roam.
Late Autumn’s fires dance,
Awaiting Winter’s hibernation turned trance.
In a cocoon of Starlight and warming candle’s glow,
I am incited into the Creative Flow,
While the Whistling Winds do outside blow!
~I hope you have enjoyed this poem. What are some of your favorite late Autumn and Winter activities? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
Note on Image: The image at the top of the post is a lovely artwork of a starlit night sky that I thought aligned with this poem. I found the artwork on https://pngtree.com/freebackground/full-hand-drawn-windy-starry-night-sky-background_976927.html.
