
Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. Today’s post is about the importance of making some space for self-care as Autumn sets in. I have been reflecting on this a lot lately, as I have had a very hectic and stressful last few weeks as I was preparing to launch my shop.
Now that my online shop is live and my customers can purchase from me (you can check out my shop by clicking on the shop on the menu for this site), I have some room to breathe. The most stressful part of opening my online business was troubleshooting the technical issues that arose as I was preparing for my shop to go live, and just after it went live. There were a lot of tears and a lot of fear surrounding wanting to get my online shop launched at the time I had promised it would go live.
I now feel a huge sense of relief, but I still have to actively remind myself to take time to breathe, meditate, and just be. Not everything has to be about worrying how many sales I have or how many sales I do not have. As long as I am making sure that I am sending off products that have been purchased, performing the Tarot readings that are ordered, and promoting my shop to gain customers, I am doing everything I need to for my business to flourish!
After I have done my business activities for the day, I know that I need to do things to promote a sense of calm and self-love. This is especially called for as we are entering the dark half of the year. The natural world is edging towards a time of stillness, and we are always best served by flowing with the tides of nature. For me, self-care often means having a glass of wine, watching some horror movies, lighting candles, reading a good book, and meditating before bed! For me, self-care also means drinking herbal tea to soothe myself (as a reminder, you can purchase my lovingly crafted and enchanted Herbal Teas by clicking my shop link in the website menu). In the morning, I prefer to begin my day with some self-care also, including doing my morning Tarot readings for myself, journaling, and doing yoga, as a way to begin the day off right before the business tasks must be completed! However, our routines to unwind and increase a sense of calm and serenity are as unique as we are. The most important thing is to make time for self-care and do what feels good to you personally! I know that it took me many years to develop solid routines to soothe myself, but I am so happy that I did.
