Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings! This week’s Femme Fatale Friday is a Birthday Weekend Special about Embracing my most magickal inner Faery Self, the Mermaid and the Elf, the Water Spirit, and the Woodland Spirit. Of course, this is specifically how I embrace my inner Faery Self, it will be different for each person looking to fully embrace their inner Faery Selves. That being said, I think this will be a fun look at living a true Faery Lifestyle, and may inspire some of my readers to discover and embrace their own inner Faery Selves!
So, I think that each of us who are drawn to the Fae in general probably has some amount of Faery blood. In my case, I know that I have quite a lot of Faery blood, as I have been contacted by multiple Faery Ancestresses over the last several years! In fact, I did a whole Patreon exclusive blog post about my Faery Ancestresses and how I honor them if you are interested in more Faery Ancestor content.* Now, once you figure out who some of your Fae Ancestors are you can begin to see patterns in how that impacts the type of Faery beings you are drawn to.
I have Fae Ancestresses who are Mermaid in nature and Fae Ancestresses who are Faery Queens in nature. I also have a suspicion that I have Elvish Fae Ancestors as well, as I have long been told that I look a bit like an Elf. My husband has referred to me as both looking like a Mermaid and an Elf, even long before any of my Faery Ancestresses came forward. This is the truly magickal energy of having Fae blood and Fae soul energy!
Why I mention that I have been told that I look like a Mermaid, an Elf, and even a Faery Princess (fairytale character) is that our physical appearance can often mirror the truth of our inner natures. It is not a perfect correlation, obviously, but it does sometimes have a surprising alignment. There are times when I look in the mirror and am truly surprised when I notice a feature that seems to really show an ethereal nature, like my nose (which my husband has admitted is distinctly Elvish)!
Each day, I try to do things that make my Faery heart and Faery soul sing. It can be as simple as meditating on a Fae image or to contact a Faery Queen. Or it can be as complex as a large ritual to call in Fae Blessings! I do love to do Bath Magick to embrace the Mermaid side of things. Mirror scrying is also an excellent way to make contact with my Fae nature. Singing and dancing are always going to be one of my favorite ways to commune with the Fae, given how much they love music, and I love music too! Finally, I want to mention that dressing in a distinctly ethereal and Faery-inspired way is a great non-magickal choice for embracing my inner Faery Self. No matter what, I always feel the most myself when I have made some time in my day to tap into my most Fae self!
