Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings. Today’s post is a review of my newest Oracle deck, Wisdom of the Wild Things Oracle by Angi Sullins with artwork by Evaboneva. This is the deck that I picked up at my local Pagan Pride Day Event recently.
This deck exudes an absolutely lovely Faery Forest energy that drew me in when I was choosing between decks to purchase at the event. The cover of the deck shows a Faery holding a snail with a mushroom cap on her head, seemingly formed into her hair! If that does not perfectly encapsulate the energy of a Faery Forest, with the Wild Things of the title, I do not know what does. When you open up the package, you will learn that the deck comes with an adorable green tulle organza pouch to keep the deck in. The guidebook is full color and gives you not just descriptions and meanings for the cards, but also is interspersed with poetry!
The cards themselves are incredibly well made. They have gilt edges in a very dark charcoal grey, silvery tone. The backs of the cards feature very cute creatures that resemble fennick foxes in my opinion. Each card has keywords on it, some of them have simply one single word to describe the energy, but others have several words to describe the card’s energy! The way the deck is set up makes for an ideal deck to use for single-card pulls to gain some insight into a situation or do a daily card pull for the day ahead. I would recommend this deck to anyone looking for a very sweet and adorable Faery deck. I think that this deck would work well when used with the Joie de Vivre Tarot deck by Paulina Cassidy, which is the deck I learned to read Tarot with. Both decks hold very similar energy in my experience! In fact, this similarity of energy with the Tarot deck I learned on may have been what drew me to this Oracle deck in the first place.
