Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings. Today’s post is another update on the beginning of my business White Rose of Avalon LLC as I ready myself to launch my first line of Herbal Teas in the coming weeks! So, I have come to a point in my life and in the process of getting my business fully up and running that I began to feel myself getting spread far too thin.
You see, I was still working my day job at a thrift store while I was getting my LLC, running this blog, running my YouTube Channel, running my Patreon, studying for my Business Herbalism Course, getting my accounts set up for my LLC and every other thing I have been painstakingly doing over the last month. It felt like working two full-time jobs at once, even though my day job was only part-time. This was because each day I was emailing and fielding calls on my breaks at my day job, or adding more items to the ever-evolving list of things that I needed to accomplish when I got home from work.
My husband even had to stop by my day job to pick up my business debit card in order to go and buy my printer a couple of weeks ago, as I had just been informed that I would need the use of a printer ASAP through an email I received when at my day job. I am very lucky that Andrew has been so endlessly supportive of all of my endeavors and so willing to go out of his way to help me when I have to do things in a time crunch while also juggling a day job.
Now, obviously, this is a very tenuous situation to be in that becomes increasingly difficult to maintain. This is why I came to the difficult decision that it was time to leave the security of my part-time day job to fully embrace my role as a Full-Time Small Business Owner! I just officially resigned from my day job two days ago, as my husband and I had agreed that my stress and anxiety levels were through the roof and quitting my day job would decrease that, as I would be able to fully devote my time to finishing the set-up of my business and managing my business once my line of Herbal Teas is launched. So, of course, I had always intended to leave my day job and be a Full-Time Owner at White Rose of Avalon LLC with no other jobs distracting me, but the original plan had been to wait until I had launched my line of Herbal Teas and was getting some consistent revenue.
As I have explained, my own body and my intuition served to show me that my plans had to change for my own well-being, and I think also the well-being of my business. After all, in order for my business to succeed, I need to make sure I have the proper time to devote to it!
I hope you have enjoyed reading about my making the tough choice to be a Full-Time Business Owner at White Rose of Avalon, giving up my security of a steady paycheck. I am super excited to have made this choice, and I believe that this is the choice that had to be made, but it is a scary one. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
