Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings. This week’s Femme Fatale Friday post is about embracing and celebrating the energy of the Goddess of the Stars for Virgo season! For me, the Goddess of the Stars means the Queen of the Faery or Elven Star. The Faery Star, also known as the Elven Star, is one of my most profound Sacred Symbols! In fact, this is the symbol that has even made its way onto my business logo as the center of the five-petaled White Rose, as that is how important the symbol is to me.
I chose to write this post now as the Sun just moved into Virgo today making this the perfect time to write about the power of Virgo energy and Virgo season! As a Virgo Sun and Moon, this season is a very powerful one for me in general. Last year, at this time, I was writing about Virgo as the Sign of the Priestess. That is part of why I want to explore other aspects of the Virgo energy, specifically looking at Virgo as the Goddess of the Stars. We have many tales linking Virgo to Astrea, the Star Maiden and Star Goddess of Ancient Greece, and this is one of the most common Greek myths related to Virgo, with the others being Persephone and Demeter.
Now that I got past the basic preamble, I will get into specifically the Faery Queen or Elven Star Goddess Energy! When I am referring to a Faery Queen or Elven Queen who is related to the Star Goddess energy, I am not referring to a specific Goddess. Instead, I am referring more to the archetype of a Faery Queen Star Goddess. So, this is the energy of the Prophetic and Oracular nature, the Queen of the Fae who will stare up at the stars to read the messages found in their beauty. The Faery Queen Star Goddess can grant the wisdom of Prophecy to others if she so desires. We know from old Faerylore that Fae will sometimes grant the Sight to those they deem worthy. This is how we know that it is in the nature of Faery Queens to grant gifts to deserving mortals. This Star Goddess is also the one who is the illumination of being a light in the darkness and one who guides the path forward for others! She is the guiding Star leading the way home while also providing nurturing and care to those around her.
Lastly, I want to mention the romantic energy that I associate with this Star Goddess energy. This romantic energy is likely at least partially inspired by my love of the Neil Gaiman novel and film Stardust and the character of Yvaine, who is literally a Fallen Star in humanoid Faery Woman form! Yvaine goes on an adventure that has her finding true love along the way. Overall, the energy I associate with the Star Goddess Virgo energy is bright, shining, illuminated, prophetic, insightful, guiding, loyal, and very very romantic.
I hope you have enjoyed this short exploration of the Star Goddess of the Fae Realms in honor of Virgo season. What is your favorite aspect of the Star Goddess? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
