Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.   Today’s post is about how you find your true Soul Animal.   This goes beyond your current Spirit Animal Guides and even Primary Spirit Animals.    Obviously, I have gone over many of my current Spirit Animals, and my Primary Animal Guides, in which Crow and Raven are my Primary, with Owl, Fox, and even Rabbit being secondary and tertiary, and so on.   I even named my Patreon tiers after my favorite birds, whom I have a very deep spiritual connection with!   Of course, those birds are also important in the tales from The Mabinogion, being an ideal way to weave the Welsh Celtic and Arthurian with my Patreon.

Now, when I say a Soul Animal, this is the specific animal that mirrors your true inner self.   Similar to the concept of Animagi in the Harry Potter universe being the true animal form of the witch or wizard who has undergone the process of transforming into an Animagus.   They only have one Animagus form and it is said to be the true animal form of that specific witch or wizard.   Obviously, in the real world, we cannot literally physically transform into animals, but we can use shapeshifting magick via meditation.   This type of mental shapeshifting is what leads to the discovery of your Soul Animal, or at least it did for me!

When we are meditating, we may sometimes go into so deep of a meditation where we transform into an animal.   This does not mean we cannot transform into several animals while in meditation, but there may come a time when we transform into an animal that feels like stepping into our own true skin.   Sort of like a Selkie reunited with her seal skin.   I had this experience while meditating and spontaneously shapeshifting into a White Raven while I was in the process of Astral Projecting to Avalon.    It was the first time I felt like I had truly found my animal form that felt almost as at home to me as my own human flesh.    I had shapeshifted into other Ravens in the past, and it felt freeing, but it did not feel like I had found my own true skin.   This meditation experience was quite mind-blowing, as I had not set an intention of Astral Projecting or Shapeshifting before I began.   I only wanted to become more in tune with the natural world around me, as I was sitting beneath a tree in my local park.    Alas, I had a really fortunate experience where I found out a little bit more about my own deeper self!

I journaled at length about the meditation when I returned home, and have been reflecting on this experience for the last few weeks.   I have come to realize, along with confirmation by a Faery Queen Goddess during meditation, that this was my soul’s true animal form!   White is the color of countless Faery Animals, so it makes sense that White Animals tend to be the ones I find a special connection with. In the case of White Ravens, they are exceedingly rare and often misunderstood even by other Ravens, so that makes them a bird that stands out. I do tend to feel a kinship with misunderstood creatures, in general, so this part makes perfect sense! I have to say that although this was not an experience that I expected to have, it is one that seems to be in line with my current growth in my magickal and spiritual practices.    To me, it makes sense in a strange and unexpected way, which is part of why I really wanted to share this with my readers!
