A Visit To Vampa the Vampire Museum!

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.   Today’s post is a special one, as I am discussing my visit to the Vampa Vampire Museum this past weekend!   I learned about this new and exciting museum about a week ago online and I was even more thrilled to learn it was only a couple of hours away.   Andrew and I decided to make a day trip out to the museum this past weekend, and it did not disappoint!

The museum is located in Doylestown Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, and is on the same property as a lovely antique store which the museum curator also owns.    When Andrew and I got there, we were immediately taken with the massive amount of statuary outside as we walked the pathway to the museum.   I was also delighted to see so much floral beauty in the garden and really enchanted to see peacocks that are kept on the property, as everyone knows I adore birds!
When we began exploring the museum, we found that it was much larger than we had initially believed.    There were many antique Vampire Hunting Kits and Trunks, which were popular in the Victorian period.   In the very first room of the museum, one of the first things that Andrew pointed out was a copy of Interview with the Vampire, which I was thrilled to see, as Anne Rice should definitely be represented there!   There was also an antique skeleton chair, rumored to have been owned by Vincent Price.    Of course, we also saw a painting of Erzsebet Bathory (better known by her anglicized name of Elizabeth), the Blood Countess of Hungary, as you cannot have a Vampire Museum without her!

Harry Houdini is represented in a bust, which is an interesting inclusion for the paranormal aspect of the museum, given that he famously sought to debunk fake Psychics, as he wanted to believe in the afterlife, but only saw frauds who used the same sleight of hand he did!   In that same room, there is a spirit table, essentially an Ouija Board painted onto a table said to have been made by Alister Crowley himself!   I felt an immense amount of energy coming from the objects in this room.   Especially the Crowley table, the other Ouija Boards that were locked up, and the Haunted Dolls.   The Haunted Dolls, like the Talking Boards, had their own separate locked space for safekeeping.   Oh, and my favorite thing in that paranormal room was the case with the antique Tarot Cards that I just wanted to read with!

It is important to state that the owner of the museum makes sure the items are cleansed and safe before putting them on display, which as a Psychic made me very glad to know!   The whole museum is themed as the battle between good and evil, so it ends with a very comforting room that is devoted to the Archangel Michael, which was Andrew’s favorite part of the museum!

After our walkthrough, we went to explore the antique shop.   I bought a lovely mug with Waterhouse’s The Magic Circle painting on it!   After we purchased the mug, Andrew and I had a lovely conversation with the owner’s assistant.   It was a truly magickal day that I am so delighted to have gotten to experience, and I definitely want to return to this amazing place!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my experiences at Vampa.  Do you want to check out this museum?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
