Faery Rites of May: A Poem

Welcome to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.    Today’s Beltane post is a poem about the magickal Faery energy and rites of Beltane!

Faery Rites of May

by Maranda Wabik

Flower blooms dance

In a riot of Spring

Petals swirl in a trance

As the May Queen shows what she can truly bring

The heady smell of honeyed wine

Makes lovers know they need not pine

Intoxication of sexual allure

Overpowers the minds of the pure

The Rites of Beltane

Create an environment for the May Queen to Reign

Faeries dance and Faeries entrance

The Earth is out of her slumber

With boundless energy raised

Now is the time when Fae nature is praised

Oh, how we all adore

The raucous fire fete

Thrown during the Faery Rites of May

It is such a joyous place to play!

  1. Lovely poem! Happy Beltane!
As a “kitchen witch”, my favorite Beltane tradition is making a rose cake and floral green tea to drink throughout the day 🥰 I also like to light a fire in the backyard or just light a candle in honor of the Beltane fires. What are your favorite Beltane traditions? Thank you again for sharing the beautiful poem!

    • Thank you for your kind words! So happy you enjoyed the poem. Some of my favorite traditions are to make a honeyed wine potion for my husband and I to share, wash my face with Beltane morning dew (for Faery blessings), to do some form of candle magick to honor the fires, and to dance barefoot in the grass! I just love anything that really gets me in touch with the Earth and the Fae for Beltane! I really love your traditions of rose cake and floral green tea, thank you for sharing. 💚
