Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings. Today’s post is a review of the book Bud Blossom & Leaf: The Magical Herb Gardeners Handbook by Dorothy Morrison. This book, as the title suggests, is a gardening handbook, but one specifically written for the magickal practitioner. I love that this text combines the mundane and the magickal, giving the gardener every opportunity to infuse magick into their gardening practice! There are also spells for those who have no space for an outdoor space for a garden, which definitely currently applies to me. I love that this book can help me in my indoor plant cultivation, and is something I can re-read when I do have outdoor space for a garden one day!
The second half of the book is a fabulous trove of herbal recipes! Every type of magickal and herbal concoctions one can think of is covered, giving a solid jumping-off point to inspire us to create countless herbal creations of our own. As I am currently studying in a Business Herbalism Course, this book served to give me a great amount of inspiration as I have been dreaming up and planning out my own herbal wares! The end of the book has a large appendix of gardening and herbal tables to help you plan out your garden and find the right herbs for your magickal purposes.
Bud Blossom & Leaf is a great choice for anyone looking to grow their gardens with a little more magick. It is also a great choice for those looking for inspiration to infuse more magick into their daily lives and incorporate more natural beauty products into their lives. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves herbalism and magick! Thanks again to Crossed Crow Books for giving me a copy of this book for review.
