Why I Love Earthing

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.    For today’s post, I want to focus on the process and ritual of Earthing!   For those who do not know what Earthing is, I want to begin with a definition of the word from earthing.com.

EARTHING

“Earthing is to sync the body to the natural rhythms of the earth. We envision a future where everybody understands how essential it is to be connected to the earth in order to restore and maintain health.”

Now that I have relayed the definition of Earthing, I want to get into why I find Earthing such an important part of my spiritual practice.   In my personal experience, Earthing is one of the best ways to Ground into my Own Body and Connect with the Earth herself!   Indeed, we experience so much through the soles of our feet.   I find that getting in touch with nature via Earthing is such a profound way of finding my center and increasing my sense of self as a Woodland loving, Tree-Hugging, Faery Witch, walking the Path of Avalon as a Priestess of Morgan le Fay and Priestess of Blodeuwedd!

When I practice Earthing I feel an intense sense of well-being within my own body.    Earthing is one of the best ways to alleviate stress, and I know that going to the Forest and being in nature will instantly lift a weight from my shoulders, in the same vein, when I feel incredibly stressed, one of the best ways to relieve stress is to just go into my backyard and walk around barefoot for twenty minutes!   I can literally feel the Earth herself absorbing all of my stress as it flows out of my body and into her loving embrace.

Being a lover of fantasy and fairytales, I want to also discuss a bit about two of my favorite Disney Princesses.   That is because they are both known for going barefoot while walking on the Earth in their films.   Both Aurora, my favorite Princess ever, and Rapunzel have famously gone without footwear in the Woodland!    Aurora’s most famous scene in her film sees her dancing and singing barefoot in the Woodland as she interacts with her animal friends.   Rapunzel spends her entire film barefoot as she finally leaves her tower and goes to explore the world.   In fact, Rapunzel takes a love of Earthing to the next level, as she is shown barefoot throughout her entire sequel series that was produced for the Disney Channel!

In my first year writing this blog I wrote an entire post about why I love these Barefoot Princesses, as I myself have always adored going without footwear whenever I can.    In fact, I spent the majority of my Wedding Day barefoot, and I got married in the Woods.   I only donned sandals for the ceremony and photos, as the terrain was rocky and there were some wooden structures, so I wanted to avoid getting a splinter or cutting my foot.   So I am clearly a great lover of Earthing and have done it long before it had a name!

I hope you have enjoyed this short post about Earthing.   Do you enjoy Earthing?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
